Edo Governor Rallies Support for APC Candidate AMBO Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

As political activities intensify ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, the Governor of Edo State has reaffirmed his commitment to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring his support for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), whom he described as a capable leader with the vision and competence to deliver meaningful development for the people of the state.

The governor made the declaration during a campaign visit to Osun State, where he joined party leaders and supporters in mobilizing grassroots support for the APC ahead of the crucial election. According to him, his presence in the state underscores the importance the party attaches to the forthcoming poll and reflects the collective determination of APC stakeholders across the country to ensure victory for its candidate.

Addressing supporters during the campaign, the governor said the August 15 election presents an opportunity for the people of Osun to choose a leader who possesses the experience, integrity, and commitment required to accelerate the state’s development and improve the welfare of its citizens.

He noted that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of governance and public service, qualities that position him to effectively tackle the socio-economic challenges facing Osun State. He expressed confidence that an AMBO administration would prioritize infrastructure development, economic empowerment, job creation, education, healthcare, and policies that promote inclusive growth.

The governor also appealed to Edo indigenes residing in Osun State to actively participate in the electoral process by supporting the APC and its governorship candidate. He emphasized that every eligible voter has a responsibility to contribute to the democratic process by electing leaders who are prepared to serve the people with transparency, accountability, and dedication.

Beyond the appeal to Edo residents, he called on all eligible voters across Osun State to rally behind the APC, stressing that the party remains committed to delivering practical governance that addresses the everyday needs of the people.

According to him, the APC has continued to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development through policies and programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities, strengthening public institutions, and enhancing the quality of life of Nigerians. He expressed optimism that these values would be reflected in an AMBO-led administration if elected.

The governor further stated that leadership should be measured not only by promises but by the ability to implement policies that produce tangible improvements in the lives of citizens. He described Oyebamiji as a leader who understands the aspirations of the people and possesses the capacity to transform those aspirations into practical results through responsible governance.

He encouraged party faithful to remain united and focused throughout the campaign period, urging them to engage voters peacefully while promoting the APC’s achievements and vision for Osun State. He also called for issue-based campaigns that strengthen democracy and inspire public confidence in the electoral process.

As the countdown to the election continues, political campaigns have gathered momentum across the state, with parties intensifying consultations and voter engagement. Analysts believe the poll will be closely watched as it represents another significant democratic exercise in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

The governor expressed confidence that the people of Osun would make a decision that prioritizes development, stability, and progress. He maintained that the APC governorship candidate has the leadership qualities necessary to build on existing achievements while introducing innovative policies capable of unlocking the state’s economic potential.

Reaffirming his optimism, he said he looks forward to a peaceful, credible, and successful election that reflects the will of the people. He added that the APC remains committed to democratic principles and believes the electorate will support a candidate who offers a clear vision for sustainable development.

The governor concluded by wishing Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and the All Progressives Congress a decisive victory at the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence that the party will earn the mandate of the people and usher in a new chapter of purposeful leadership, practical governance, and sustainable progress for Osun State.
